bi·par·ti·san I have heard a lot lately about bipartisanship and how we need to come together in a bipartisan way to help the economy. Well I am not a Harvard grad or a Constitutional Lawyer or a Speaker Of The House or even insightful journalist. I have a B.A. in History from a small Midwest college, that’s all. I do have one advantage over all the above mentioned people though, I know the definition of bipartisan. Even if I didn’t know the definition of bipartisan I do know how to look up the definition of the word. Yesterday the Obama Economic plan passed the house with a
vote of 244-188. Democrats voting for the plan:

We have been told for as long as we can remember that voting is a god given right in this country. To be politically incorrect “One man, one vote†is what we are told. How could anyone disagree? What a wonderful world we live in with our wonderful democracy here in the U.S. Well I, the WhiteDevil, will now disagree. We already put some limitations on voting. We may not vote until we are 18. Not all people living in America can vote such as legal or illegal immigrants. Felons cannot vote in most places. A judge can remove the right of a person to vote by declaring them incompetent. If I am missing any other reasons please let me know.I do not believe that we have enough restrictions on voting. We have heard many times that one of the reasons for free education in American schools is for the purpose of making an educated and informed voting population. I say we have failed. more... Today it seems that Hillary has received enough delegates to stay in the hunt for the Democratic nomination. I love this. I really want to see a floor fight at the convention but probable not for the same reasons as you. I am a history teacher. As a teacher an historian I like to see things get shaken up now and again. It is not very often that we get to see the political process working the way it is supposed to. It is not very often that we get to see the political process working the way it is supposed to. Usually the candidates have already been chosen by this time. Most of the last few states to vote really don't have a say in who the candidate is going to be. Well this year they do. As a historian the perfect outcome of all this would be that neither Clinton or Obama get the nod. A brokered nominee would be great. Something we can write about in the books and teach in class. What a chance students are having right now to learn about our process. In all honesty I was hoping for a floor fight on the GOP side too. What a glorious election this would have been. By Wan Lixin, Shanghai Daily BRYAN Caplan's "The Myth of the Rational Voter: Why Democracies Choose Bad Policies" debunks the myth of Western democracy as an ideal by marshaling a litany of complaints. The central indictment is predicated on The shocking ignorance of the general American voters., especially in economic matters.

Ok lets get this clear right off the bat. NO ONE and I mean almost no one is as conservative as me. I am born and bread conservative. Love the U.S. hate taxes and the federal government. I am a States rights, don't take my gun away, and keep your homo agenda off my kid conservative. Reagan is my hero and I can not find anywhere in the Constitution where it says "seperation of church and state" that you have a god given right to kill a baby. more... It is kind of nice to be so far away during election time. I can set back and watch everyone fight and not feel so attached to one guy or the other. I used to be very active in my State Republican Party. I have ran for State Rep. and other local offices. sadly I have never won. However, I have always said the only way to get a perfect candidate for yourself is to run yourself. So seeing as there are no perfect candidates and the one I wanted isn't running and the two I supported have dropped out I will support the one who is closest to my beliefs. John McCain is my guy for President. more... Posted by: White Devil at 07:36 AM |
