Xinhua reports that Netizens "Slam CNN"

Xinhua News

Today Xinhua news has reported that the citizens of the internet are calling out CNN on its handeling of the Tibet protest.  "Tens of thousands of netizens have answered calls to condemn CNN and a few other western media organizations for distorting facts in covering the riot in Lhasa, capital city of China's Tibet Autonomous Region."

Here is one of my favorite quotes. "One netizen said a Canadian traveller who witnessed the riot in Lhasa wrote in his blog: those rioters assaulted civilians and policemen. This would have been cracked down on more severely if it had happened in Western countries."
Could this be any more vague.  A person said they saw another person.  No names. no information.  Just a person saw a person.  I tell you what China.  If you had not kicked out the very media that you are complaining about.  Maybe they would have the real story to tell.  What your really saying is they should only report what the Chinese government says.  Well that may be how it works in a slave country like China but in the free world the press doesn't bow down to the government. In fact its just the opposite. The funny thing is that no one in the world buys what your saying except your programmed, mind numbed, scared citizens.

"Xinhua has tried to contact CNN Beijing Bureau for a comment but has so far not succeeded, because the telephone is either busy or is not answered."

So, one of the most powerful countries in the world. A country that has an iron grip on the press can not contact the Beijing office of CNN.  You have got to be kidding me.  Why didn't you just call the party official who oversees everything at the CNN office.  Why not call the police who follow the CNN reporters around everyday.  What phone did you call.  If you called one at all it must have been the phone of the janitor or perhaps the lunch room attendants.  No one, and I mean no one buys this.  If it wasn't so tragic that you are murdering people in Tibet it would be laughable.  It is beyond my comprehension that Bush and other world leaders are going to come and give honor the Chinese government at the Olympics.

I have supported Bush through thick and thin.  I didn't back him on the immigration issues but I chalked it up to the fact that not everyone agrees all the time.  But this officially puts him in my dog house.  Is he so stupid that he doesnt realize that in Chinese culture he will be giving support to the Chinese communist by just showing up.  How could he possible not know that.  He is a lame duck president.  If there was every a chance for him to make a big splash with his last year in office this would be it.  he is missing one of the greatest opportunities to force the Chinese to make concessions.  If he would lead others would follow.  I am sad and ashamed.
