Shanghai Daily reported this today.

“THE monks who disrupted the tour of overseas reporters on Thursday are not to be punished, said a top Tibetan official.

"What they said is not true. They were attempting to mislead the world's opinion," said Baema Chilain, vice chairman of the regional government at a press conference on Thursday evening in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. "The facts shouldn't be distorted."”

Chilain said this “the monks at the Zhaibung Monastery, Gandan Monastery, the Sera Monastery and the Jokhang Temple were being temporarily confined to the premises as the authorities were investigating allegations that some of them led or participated in the violence.” 

So my guess it the Monks must have said something about their brothers being arrested without charges.  Of course confining the monks to their monasteries is only for their protection I am sure.  Again because the Chinese government has such a great humans right record I am not concerned at all about the health of these monks.

“We will not let this single incident undermine the development and the stability of Tibet,”
