Shanghai Daily CHINA is "deeply concerned" over Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said in Beijing today. (Thats it, thats the entire story. "deeply concerned" Yes I would say they are. With no less the 2 Provinces and 3 if you count Taiwan wanting independence or some sort of self rule (Hong Kong). I would say China does have things to worry about. If the world accepts this independence and other independence else where then it puts a lot of pressure on China to also allow this. The current style of Chinese government will never allow it though, I have had students tell me that they would rather see every person in Taiwan die then to let them be independent. These people have been taught for the past 60 years that there is no disagreement in the world about these provinces in China. They are always surprised when I tell them most people don't agree. Takes them at least 5 minutes for that to soak in. After it does we are faced with the "its not your business, Chinas business." I personally am not sure how I feel about the Independence of Kosovo. I do have my concerns. Especially with terrorism the way it is. Anywhere there is a weak government the IslmaAss can take advantage. I do wonder why none of the media has mentioned Kosovo as Clinton's war. Dont we still have soldiers there, What is the exit strategy, how many Americans must die to make Kosovo free.
