 First a correction. I stated in yesterdays question that it came from laotzu when in fact it came from aruanan sandoval. Sorry about that. Ok, todays question does come from laotzu. The question is. What is right/wrong with communism? What is right/wrong with capitalism? This actually started a great discussion in class and even opened my eyes to some things. What is right/wrong with communism? Neo said "Communism is a great idea but it just didn't seem to work and perhaps in the future when men are better it will work." he also said "communism is bad because there is no completion. No reason to work harder then anyone else" Rock said that he was afraid to answer this question and didn't want to What is right/wrong with capitalism? This is where the discussion becomes interesting. I could see both of these students where uneasy about answering this one. They told me that they where taught in there books that there is nothing good about capitalism. But that China is changing and now China is not a communist country(to be true I agree with this, China is now a totalitarian capitalist country). They said that if you look around Shanghai that everything is capitalism. That even poor farmers can no be rich if they work hard and save their money. For the most part Rock again refused to answer any of these questions. The most interesting part is the age difference between the students. Rock is around 40 and Neo is about 22.
